Compressed air can be dried (i.e. its moisture reduced) by cooling, because its moisture holding capacity reduces at lower temperature. The Compressed Air Chiller Dryer uses cooling media which are available in the plant e.g. chilled water.
The incoming air is first pre cooled in the Pre cooler by the outgoing cold air before it being cooled further in the Chiller. Moisture condensing out due to cooling is removed by a high efficiency Moisture Separator and drained out by an Auto Drain Valve.
Compressed air temp at outlet of Chiller is its dew point. The dryness of air obtained by the Chiller Dryer is suitable for most compressed air applications in a tropical country like India.
